What Stu has gathered here is a lifetime of stories about people and their funny, curious, interesting, heartbreaking and unforgettable ways. Come on along as Stu Tinney takes you wading through the mainstream of life.

Book Reviews

"Well, I knew Stu could tell me all I needed to know about Striper fishing, but who knew that he could also tell me about life, and love, and growing up, and family, and the wide and endless variety of hilarious characters who populate the fishing world. Thanks, Stu, for reminding me that fishing is just the starting point for some of life's really great adventures!"

"With characters as richly drawn as from the pen of Damon Runyon, Stu Tinney makes his fishing boat into a wondrous place where the common and uncommon told their stories to him. His twin passions of baseball and fishing enabled the storyteller in him to weave a tapestry of a time when America was a far different place than today, and we're all richer for it."

"Stu, I am calling you Stu because after reading your book i feel as though I know you. You gave me insight into you as a boy and as a man I grew to like. The stories you shared about the famous, near famous and not so famous had me grinning, laughing out loud and on occasion shedding a tear. I am a non-fisherwoman who is a voracious reader. I had to be convinced to pick up your book. It is not about fishing, it is about life and you wrote it with heart, love, understanding and humor. Thank you for allowing me entry into your wonderful life"

"Every chapter, a short story Every short story, a gem I read most of this book in an all day retreat, the culmination of which left me feeling blessed. Mr. Tinney's book conjures up a time when life was simpler, paths clearer, and people friendlier. It suggests that that time is not lost. The book hints that the American Dream is still alive for those with a passionate pursuit, an open heart, and a sense of humor and gratefulness. Read a chapter for a sweet treat at the end of a long day." David Heller

I laughed, I cried, I felt like I was right there in all the adventure highs and lows. This writer takes you by the hand and draws you into the tales...each chapter stands on it's own, like the Herriot tales of All Creatures Great and Small...and strums a few heart strings, but split my sides too!!! Only these are true stories. Although some of the people involved were the famous..I enjoyed the ones involving we regular type folks the best! I loved the fishing information..the descriptions of the catch left me drooling..but it is so much more than what I expected...I think couples will find both enjoying the read....Thumbs up! Careful if you read on a plane full of people, they will stare at you! In a word...delightful.”
